Our History
Houston Ice Sports Coalition was founded by community leaders from separate organizations as a result of the Ice Skate Memorial City closure, announced in April of 2026. Following the disruptive announcement of the rink's closure, we formed a coalition to spearhead a community-driven ice facility, anchoring the future of ice sports in Houston, Texas. Our mission is to provide Houstonians with a sustainable, year-round ice center that meets the growing demand for educational, recreational, and competitive skating opportunities through a well-run community facility offering a variety of activities and events. HISC will be an asset to the community providing opportunities for ice sports enthusiasts of all ages.
